Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Palette
For Tim Burton’s upcoming movie, Alice in Wonderland, Urban Decay teamed up with Disney to give its Book of Shadows a makeover. The result is the amazing and much raved Alice In Wonderland Palette ($52). Urban Decay released the palette on January 15th, and it was sold out within one day on its website. Unfortunately, I was not lucky enough to grab one before it is gone.
I love the pop-up scene of Alice in the mushroom forest. It looks lovely on top of my vanity.
Under the pop-up scene is a hidden drawer, where you will find 16 beautiful shadows, a travel size Primer Potion, and two mini 24/7 liners. I don’t own any previous Book of Shadows from Urban Decay, and since this is limited edition, I thought this is a good time for me to get one. However, I am truly astonished when I saw the beautiful colors.
I love all the little details Urban Decay put into this. Can you see the patterns on the palette?
already looks amazing when I opened it. However, when I actually swatched the colors, they are as gorgeous as eye shadows can get. All 16 shadows are old shades and re-promotions from previous palettes. Urban Decay simply repackaged them with new Alice In Wonderland themed names.
I noticed that majority of the shadows are very glittery and frothy. I love shimmer colors, but I would definitely appreciate a few matte ones (or even semi matte). And not to mention that the glittery colors have a lot of fall out. Since I don’t own other Urban Decay palettes, the colors in this one is definitely new to me. However, if you already have a few other palettes, you might be disappointed this time. I think many of us would appreciate some new shades.
If you are a collector, this is definitely a must have. If you are new to Urban Decay’s palettes like I do, then I would also recommend this to you. Otherwise, these shadows are all from previous and existing palettes, and you probably already have them. Comment below to let me know if you picked one up and which new name is your favorite.
